Shelley Thompson
Over 30 years with Kardinia Veterinary Clinic, Shelley has built her surgical nursing career on compassion and empathy balanced with professional strength and resilience, whilst responding with patience and gentleness in our Geelong Clinic.
Shelley, serves as the quiet voice for pets, reading subtle body language (e.g., tucked tails, changes in breathing, ears swivelled back or sideways, enlarged eyes) to ease fear and anxiety during stressful vet visits or after surgery.
One of our highly trusted veterinary nurses who can think on her feet, ensuring every task has been completed meticulously. Shelley’s humour behind the scenes can be quite infectious whilst keeping the team focussed. You will often see Shelley multi skilling between Nursing and Reception in our main Clinic.
Outside of work Shelley enjoys time with her Labrador Retrievers, Cats and Chooks whilst juggling quality time with her family.
Sarah Bull
Sarah started with Kardinia Veterinary Clinic in August 2016. Sarah is a qualified vet nurse and located at our reception area sharing her wealth of knowledge and experience over the phone and with clients attending the clinic.
Sarah demonstrates extreme patience with clients whilst presenting herself in a caring, compassionate, professional manner.
Sarah also runs our Puppy School at the Clinic advising and guiding clients on training techniques and interaction for their young pups including good behaviour techniques.
Sarah is pictured with one of her Guinea Pigs and also shares her home with Marvel Rex the Exotic Shorthair Cat and her two Australian Bull Dogs Miss Pearl and Princess Myrtle.
Susan McWilliam
Susan is one of Kardinia Veterinary Clinic’s experienced Veterinary Nurses. She has worked with animals and has been a Veterinary Nurse for over 30 years.
Susan has an interest in surgical nursing and over the years has worked alongside specialist surgeons. If you haven’t already met Susan you will find her mostly working at our Branch clinics located in: Drysdale, Portarlington and Ocean Grove. Occasionally you may be lucky enough to bump into her at our main clinic in Geelong.
Susan absolutely loves her job and would not dream of doing anything else. Whilst meeting and greeting clients and pets, she goes above and beyond to ensure your visit is as stress free as possible. Pop in and say hello to Susan, she would love to meet you and your furry friends.
Jasmine Yeo
Jasmine Yeo graduated as a veterinary nurse in 2021 and joined us during August 2022. She has a particular interest in surgical nursing and post-operative recovery. Jas has strong focus on ensuring patients receive the highest standard of care throughout their treatment.
Beyond the Clinic, Jas enjoys gardening and spending time with her two cats Vienna and Salem.
Jas is a calming influence during stressful times and ready to offer support on your pets visit.
Amber Chiovitti
Amber completed her Certificate III in Veterinary Nursing at The Gordon in 2024 before joining Kardinia Vet Clinic in 2025 as Reception Co-ordinator. Clients are welcomed by Amber’s friendly smile, warm personality and exceptional customer service from the moment they walk through the door. A natural communicator and confident engager understanding the needs of both humans and pets alike.
Outside of the clinic, Amber is the proud owner of a Male blue merle Great Dane who is truly the light of her life. Together, they enjoy daily adventures, stopping to be greeted by the public and answering lots of questions they have about him, as well as collecting as many treats as possible along the way.
If there’s an extra-large dog visiting the clinic, chances are Amber will be first in line for pats and a quick photo for social media. Amber manages the clinic’s Instagram page, so be sure to follow at kardinia.vetclinic for clinic updates, cute patient photos and “behind-the-scenes moments".
Sharni Bruce
Sharni began her journey in the industry in 2015, completing her Certificate III in Animal Companion Services while completing year 9. After finishing her year 12 studies, she went on to complete her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing at The Gordon Institute. Since graduating, Sharni has developed a strong foundation of skills and knowledge within the Veterinary industry. Her passion and love for animals have always been at the heart of everything she does, and she is always willing to lend a helping hand to both colleagues and clients.
Sharni takes great pride in providing the highest standard of care to every client and their beloved pets. Known for her warm personality, she greets everyone with a smile and brings a positive, compassionate attitude to the workplace whilst working at both our Reception and Nursing.
Outside of work, Sharni enjoys spending time with her gorgeous black cat, Nova, whom she absolutely adores. In her spare time, she also loves surfing and camping with her boyfriend Liam.
